O Blue Dragon Film Awards é uma premiação considerada uma das mais prestigiadas do cinema sul-coreano resolveu incluir outros formatos de produções. Com isso, 2022 será o primeiro ano da exibição do Blue Dragon Series Awards.
As categorias foram focadas em K-dramas e programas de variedade lançados em serviços de streaming e inclui produções de renome da Netflix, Disney+, seezn, Apple TV+, WATCHA, wavve, Kakao TV, Coupang Play e TVING.
